The Airfield Electrical Systems and NAVAID Maintenance course outlines best practices for maintenance programs for airfield electrical systems and navigational aids (NAVAIDs).

Specifically, the course explores the maintenance of apron lighting, airfield ground lighting, power supply systems, aircraft visual guidance docking systems, and NAVAIDs.

The course can be taken as part of the Certificate in Airfield Maintenance for those wishing to gain a more complete understanding of airfield maintenance, including best practices for the maintenance of airfield pavements and markings, as well as general airfield maintenance, including snow removal, night maintenance, drainage facility maintenance, and grass maintenance.

  4. Aircraft Visual Docking Guidance System Maintenance
    • What Aircraft Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VGDS) are.
    • Critical VDGS maintenance tasks and the frequency with which they are typically completed.
