Overview

The Airport Industry Orientation (USA) course has been designed as an introduction to the airport industry.

This course provides an overview of the key aspects of airport business, including the regulatory environment, governance, ownership and financial principles, airport operations and safety.

This course also explores how airports form part of the broader Air Transportation System.

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Explain the regulatory framework that governs aviation in the United States, including key departments and agencies.

Various airport ownership models and the financial profile of an airport, including government programs and requirements.

The major components of airport operations and the importance of safety and security as operational imperatives.

Getting Involved

How you can get involved in the airport industry through Airports Council International – North America.

Assessment

This course includes an integrated online assessment.

Candidates must successfully complete the assessment to receive a Certificate of Completion.
