Overview
Welcome to the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Irregular Operations (IROPS) course.
This course provides participants with an introduction to irregular operations (IROPS) events.
It will define and discuss IROPS situations and explore the impact of IROPS events on airports and the broader Air Transportation System (ATS).
Participants will learn how airports can effectively plan for and improve their response to IROPS events and positively impact the different stakeholders in the ATS through a coordinated, holistic IROPS planning process.

The ACI Airport Irregular Operations (IROPS) course covers the following topics:
Introduction
Highlights key IROPS definitions and explains how proactive IROPS planning can assist airports to adhere to regulations and enable them to quickly escalate from normal operations and deescalate from disruptive situations.
IROPS Causes
Explores the major causes of IROPS and the different situations that can trigger an IROPS event.
IROPS Effects
Outlines how IROPS events affect key stakeholders in the Air Transport System (ATS).
Stakeholder Needs
Describes the needs of industry stakeholders during an IROPS event and how we can mitigate the effects of an IROPS event through proactive communication and coordination.
IROPS Challenges
Explores the main challenges faced by air transport system stakeholders when managing IROPS events related to effective planning, communication and coordination.
Unified Customer Care
Discusses how airports can optimise their IROPS Readiness by effectively planning for three key phases of an IROPS event and explains how to establish Unified Customer Care during Irregular Operations by developing a cohesive action plan.
Coordination and Regional Networks
Explains the importance of developing coordinated solutions and the benefits of establishing regional networks when dealing with IROPS events.
Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM)
Introduces Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) and how A-CDM can assist in mitigating the effects of an IROPS situation.
Assessment
This course includes an integrated online assessment. Candidates must successfully complete the assessment to receive a Certificate of Completion.
